No, you shouldn't exfoliate on the day of your waxing appointment. Waxing already puts stress on the skin, which can be sensitive or slightly irritated. Exfoliating on the same day can further irritate the skin and lead to redness, burning, or minor inflammation. It's best to exfoliate no earlier than two days before your appointment.
Generally, exfoliating once a week is sufficient. Exfoliation removes dead skin cells and can help prevent ingrown hairs. However, over-exfoliation can weaken the skin barrier, making the skin more sensitive, dry, or irritated. Moderate exfoliation promotes healthy skin and leads to better waxing results.
For optimal waxing results, the hairs should be about 0.5–1 cm long (approximately the length of a grain of rice). If the hairs are too short, the wax cannot grip them properly. If they are too long, the treatment can be more uncomfortable. The right hair length ensures that the hairs can be removed cleanly and as thoroughly as possible.
Waxing is generally possible during pregnancy. However, it is recommended to begin regular treatments from the third month onwards if you wish to wax during pregnancy. Starting with a first treatment in the ninth month is usually not ideal, as the skin may be more sensitive and the treatment more strenuous. It is also recommended not to schedule a waxing appointment immediately before your due date.
Ingrown hairs can occur when dead skin cells clog the hair follicles, preventing the hair from growing through the skin properly. To avoid this, it's recommended to gently exfoliate no more than once a week. This removes dead skin cells, allowing the hair to grow through the skin more easily. Regular moisturizing with a hydrating lotion is also important to keep the skin soft and supple.
In my studio I also recommend the body lotion from Shaba Naturprodukt, which is especially suitable for aftercare following waxing or sugaring.
Because it consists of natural ingredients, it is safe even with daily use and helps the skin to calm down after treatment.
Pain perception varies from person to person. The treatment may be somewhat more intense at the first appointment, as the hair is often thicker. With regular treatments, the hair usually becomes finer and the treatment becomes significantly more comfortable.
In der Regel bleibt die Haut 3 bis 5 Wochen glatt, je nach individuellem Haarwachstum.Bei manchen Menschen kommen die ersten Härchen kommen langsam schon ab der zweiten Woche.
For a permanently smooth result, treatments are recommended approximately every 3 to 5 weeks, depending on hair growth.
The hair should not be shaved before the appointment and should be the correct length. Furthermore, no exfoliation should be performed on the day of the treatment to avoid further irritating the skin.
During the first 24–48 hours after treatment, sauna, solarium, sun, sports and peels should be avoided to allow the skin to calm down.
For many clients, intimate waxing is an unusual experience at their first appointment. However, the studio operates professionally, discreetly, and respectfully. For me, this treatment is routine, so a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere is created.
Waxing and sugaring remove the hair along with the root. As a result, the hair often grows back softer and finer, and over time hair growth can also decrease.
If the hair is too short, the wax or sugar paste won't grip it properly. In this case, the treatment may not achieve the desired result. Therefore, a hair length of approximately 0.5–1 cm is ideal.
The hair should be sufficiently long and not shaved immediately beforehand. Exfoliation should also be avoided on the day of the treatment to prevent further skin irritation. Comfortable clothing after the treatment can also be beneficial.
Small red spots can be a normal skin reaction as the hairs are removed from the root. This reaction usually disappears within a short time.
The duration depends on the specific treatment. A haircut, for example, takes approximately 45 minutes, while a lash lift takes about 60-75 minutes.
I'd be happy to discuss the process with you beforehand.
